Elsie's Diner

I wanted to practice drawing perspective. The challenge was to incorporate every track on the Horrible Crowes album into the picture. In the spirit of The Gaslight Anthem I painted a diner. Elsie's.

This unexpectedly evolved into the first complete story puzzle. 

There was a murder and Betty the waitress with the black hair was at the scene of the crime. A cover of Teenage Dream was playing on the jukebox. Small details from the scene were magnified, each attached to a lyric. They were the clues.

Those lines told me the full story. 

Somebody Died Tonight

The red violin was a kind of epilogue. 

Ambulances on their way to me. Get Hurt, even die. Heal and move on through music.
