This set was very early on when I was really experimenting with drawing out the story. I was up all night many nights, listening to songs, extracting lyrics and story pieces.
Juliet and Elvis were Jackson and Mae.
In this version, she seemed to be some sort of agent or producer that he was auditioning for and trying to impress. She believed in him--there was no doubt.
He was escaping from the expectations of his family and his life and she was cheering him on. She was the magnetic force ahead of him and behind him.
She was the powerful one, smoking by the window. He was just a boy wearing his heart on his jeans.
She used to bartend at his father's diner when he was young, before she became the JC in JC & Associates.
He adored her and always looked up to her confidence and her strength.
A word appeared in the top corner. Can you see it?
After several months it came out again and it started to become something else.
Juliet is wearing a headset and I get the feeling she is in a game now. Maybe she always was. Elvis's head is either a windmill or the beginnings of a Forget Me Not.
The diner is burning up and the record store is under new management.
